ZETA Communities, a company outside of Sacramento, is taking up the challenge of a changing world where the population is growing and the rate of consumption is climbing by finding creative ways to use limited space.
In its factory, workers assemble modular homes one piece at a time, from the floors to the walls to the ceilings, according to a story NPR reported. A 1,500-square-foot home can be built in a day. Besides space, ZETA’s mission also includes a push for energy efficiency and sustainability, something that is needed as number of the planet’s consumers continues to increase, according to the article.
The United Nations estimates that there are 7 billion people on the planet and more to come, NPR reported. The growing population affects consumption in the form of more cars on the roads, computers, and larger homes.
