Owner, Principal in Charge of Design, Todd Jersey Architecture
Todd Jersey is the owner and principal of Todd Jersey Architecture, an award winning design firm in Berkeley CA. Mr. Jersey was educated at the University of California and received a masters degree in architecture at the University of Washington. He also studied environmental design with Arthur Loeb at Harvard University and Permaculture design through the Permaculture Institute of Australia. Mr. Jersey has taught college-level architecture at Boston Architectural Center and the San Francisco Institute of Architecture.
Mr. Jersey is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's leaders in the innovation and application of sustainable design principles and strategies and developed a highly walkable urban development prototype called Collaborative Housing. He recently co-founded a new development partnership called OpenDoor Development Group to initiate real estate projects that utilize share platform living as a core value and function. An avid environmentalist with a strong interest in ensuring the health of our environment and our children, Mr. Jersey created The Living Laboratories Project in 1996 to work with teachers and students to build teaching ecosystems at local schools. Since the inception of Living Labs, Mr. Jersey has donated hundreds of professional hours building ponds, wetlands, and gardens at schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also working on applying ecological footprint metrics to green building analysis and is developing a new green building protocol title Net Positive Ecological Design.
